On July 30th, we celebrated the baptism of Ellie Mae. The sun was shining down on this beloved child of God as she was baptized. It was a wonderful service reminding us of our own baptisms. Following the service, the family invited everyone to stay for a delicious brunch.
On June 25, we were honored to help the Theunes celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. Their loving commitment to each other has proven a wonderful example for all who know them. Congratulations! (see photo in gallery)
Undie Sunday was a HUGE success!! Over 470 pieces of women’s and children’s underwear and socks were collected and sent to the Equinox shelter for battered women. THANK YOU to all who donated !! You have helped restore dignity to these women and their families.
On May 7, LPC sent out 17 brave walkers to the Albany CROP Walk to “end hunger one step at a time.” Several walkers completed the “Golden Mile” while others braved the rain and walked the three miles. Despite winter storm warnings, LPC turned out to celebrate Dot’s 97th birthday and to make Love Kits. In church, Dot was presented with a certificate deeming her LPC’s “Deacon Emeritus” to celebrate her years of being a dedicated and enthusiastic deacon. Last Sunday, our busy congregants stayed for a cup of soup and a cutting session. After collecting many, many plastic grocery bags, volunteers stayed Sunday to cut the bags into strips. These strips were then wound into balls like yarn. Those not completed were lovingly taken home to be cut and/or wound. The balls are being […]
