Undie Sunday was a HUGE success!! Over 470 pieces of women’s and children’s underwear and socks were collected and sent to the Equinox shelter for battered women. THANK YOU to all who donated !! You have helped restore dignity to these women and their families.
On May 7, LPC sent out 17 brave walkers to the Albany CROP Walk to “end hunger one step at a time.” Several walkers completed the “Golden Mile” while others braved the rain and walked the three miles. Despite winter storm warnings, LPC turned out to celebrate Dot’s 97th birthday and to make Love Kits. In church, Dot was presented with a certificate deeming her LPC’s “Deacon Emeritus” to celebrate her years of being a dedicated and enthusiastic deacon. Last Sunday, our busy congregants stayed for a cup of soup and a cutting session. After collecting many, many plastic grocery bags, volunteers stayed Sunday to cut the bags into strips. The LPC Bell ringers under the direction of our own Marcus Schlegel went to the Memory Care center to share their gifts during this Advent season. Christmas favorites were beautifully played for their audience. Their next stop is the Grace Fellowship Church. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated and talented group.
